The snake draft ensures fairness by reversing the selection order each round. If you pick first in round 1, you pick last in round 2, then first again in round 3, and so on. This prevents any single position from having an advantage.
The 2026 vacation draft opens on January 15, 2026. Partners will be notified via email with their draft time slot. The draft typically completes within 2-3 days depending on participation.
If you miss your selection window, you can either skip your turn or make a selection when you return. The draft will continue, but you won't lose your pick. Contact HR if you need to arrange an alternative selection time.
Yes, partners can arrange trades after the draft with mutual agreement. Both partners must notify HR of the trade, and it must comply with practice policies (max 2 consecutive weeks, etc.).
Each partner is allocated 9 weeks of vacation per year. You must select all 9 weeks during the draft unless you have special arrangements with HR.
Partners can take a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks of vacation, except with special approval from practice management. This ensures adequate coverage throughout the year.
Summer weeks (23-32, approximately June 7 - August 9) have limited availability due to high demand. These weeks may have additional restrictions or reduced slots available.
Holiday weeks (Spring Break, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year) are available but highly sought after. They are distributed through the normal draft process based on selection order.
